General Tips

If you choose to pack yourself, here are some general and specific tips to insure that your belongings will be intact at your new destination.

Put heavy items in small boxes and light items in larger boxes. Box weight should not exceed 50 lbs.

Pack breakables loosely with lots of bubble wrap.

Rent furniture pads to avoid scratches and damage.

Mark your boxes by room so you and the Movers will know where each box should go.

Write “Fragile” in big bold letters on breakables and keep Separated or on top of other boxes.

Large Items

Beds: If you are responsible for breaking down the beds, tie bed frames together with tape and label the pieces so they’ll be easy to reassemble.
